These are very little birds found in the extreme south and in the east of South Africa. They are found in tall grass near forest fringes, in thick bush, on bushy hillsides and near wooded streams. They are quiet and easily overlooked but often quite tame and usually to be seen in pairs or small groups. They eat seeds and insects.
